GAMEPLAY

First off, we all just came here to have a good time. Or be sad because we're big fans of George R. R. Martin and we have a penchant for killing or otherwise tormenting our fictional characters. Everyone has different motives for roleplaying, and that's ok. Are you just here to ship your favorite ship? Awesome. Are you here to justify the weird murder shit you Google a lot? Cool. All we ask is that everyone participates and works together to make this a fun and active environment in which we can all live vicariously through our internet Barbies.

Journals are how our characters keep in contact with one another. Let's go ahead and pretend that, of all the modern luxuries even the World Government couldn't live without, it's the Internet. Just go with it. Your actual character journal should be added to the following communities:

Godmodding will not be tolerated. This means, you don't actually get to control other people's characters without their express permission.

TRIGGER WARNINGS ARE REQUIRED. In ANY instance where anything you write contains any triggering contact, you MUST include a trigger warning where it can be seen before someone reads it. As this is a darker game with darker themes, we ask that anyone who might be especially sensitive to certain topics contact the mods immediately if they feel uncomfortable.

Entries, with the optional exception to OOC posts, should remain unlocked so that non-members may see what this game's all about prior to joining.

activity & limits

Activity is tracked using tags. Upon acceptance, the mods will add tags to the communities that correspond to your character and you as a player both. You must remember to tag your own entries from there, however, as the mods use these tags as a means to track your activity. If you fail to tag an entry, it will not be counted during activity checks.

Checks occur once every month. All we ask for is 2 pieces of activity from each character. Activity checks run from the 26th to the 1st of every month, giving you plenty of time to get caught up. Note that if we see a pattern of only doing the bare-minimum, restrictions may be applied on a case-by-case basis.

Limits are set to 6 characters per player. Because this is a dystopian society, the world's population has been significantly decreased.

characters

Cause & Effect is a thing that we'd like everyone to remember here. Character actions will be met with character reactions -- if your character openly discusses their Super Illegal Work where everyone can see it, you can expect to be contacted by the mods with the news your character is going to be arrested. While the mods promise not to godmod or force you into doing something you don't want to do, you must remember to use common sense too. There's only so much ignoring we can do before it becomes an actual problem.

Played-Bys are entirely up to you. We really don't care. You want Nicki Minaj as your Government worker? Do it. You want Harvey Guillen as a murderous psychopath? Yes, go for it. If it makes sense for YOUR character, that's YOUR call, end of story. All we ask is that the chosen played-by is an actual celebrity (and not a Suicide Girl or an obscure model with only Tumblr tags to prove they exist) and that the age of your character corresponds according to the played-by's appearance. So, like Ian McKellan can't actually pass for 30.

And remember, remain in character. People evolve their opinions or even their attitude, over time and that's totally okay. But if you submit an application with a character who's described as being dark and gloomy, and they start posting about unicorns and rainbows unironically, then we might have a few questions. That said, if your character is described as being dark and gloomy on the inside but unicorns and rainbows on the outside, that's completely fine. Just remember it needs to be mentioned at some point in the application you submitted.
